Status update Knaken Cryptohandel B.V.

Knaken Cryptohandel B.V. has ceased its business activities. As Knaken cannot continue providing crypto-asset services without the required MiCAR licence, trading, deposits, withdrawals and transfers are currently unavailable.

The customer portal and the app are currently unavailable. Logging in is therefore not possible at this time.

We are working on a careful and legally sound settlement. This process is being carried out with legal guidance and in accordance with the applicable obligations.

Based on current progress, we expect to be able to begin implementing the settlement plan before 1 July 2026. This is an expectation and not a guarantee. The actual start depends on the completion of the necessary legal and organisational preparations.

We cannot currently make any individual commitments regarding amounts, payments or timelines.

Knaken cannot continue providing crypto-asset services without the required MiCAR licence. Trading, deposits, withdrawals and transfers are therefore currently unavailable.

What is Stichting Knaken Payments?

Stichting Knaken Payments is a separate foundation in which customer-related assets are held and managed. The foundation was established to keep these assets separate from the business activities of Knaken Cryptohandel B.V.

Why does the settlement take time?

The settlement must be carefully prepared from a legal, organisational and operational perspective. This takes time and is necessary to ensure that the further implementation is carried out in a responsible and consistent manner.

Can support confirm my individual situation?

No. Support cannot currently confirm any individual amounts, payments, outcomes or timelines.

Do I need to submit a claim now?

At this time, it is not necessary to submit a separate claim through support. If any further action is required from customers, this will be communicated clearly.

Will customers be informed individually?

Yes. Customers will be informed as soon as further concrete and verified information about the settlement becomes available.

Do I need to do anything now?

You do not need to take any action at this time. Please monitor the updates on this website and make sure you can be reached through the email address registered with Knaken.
